Clickbank Cracks Down on Scammy Advertisers

Hey guys,

This is the time for all of us to have a little bit of celebration. Why you ask? Here’s the deal.

You know how many shady companies there are promoting work at home offers right. Well, FTC issued quite a few regulations that meant to stop shady people from advertising and lying to consumers. Although, this was meant for good, actually some good advertisers faced challenges from FTC’s new rules. But that didn’t stop some of the baldest thugs in the industry to continue pushing the envelope. Well, I’m glad that one of the best and most trusted affiliate/ad networks ClickBank decided to clear up the space a little bit.

You may not know about some of the advertisements, but I was getting tons and tons of really questionable emails into my mailbox promoting various CB (Clickbank) work at home products. And no, it’s not just fake news articles or fake blogs. Those are squeaky clean compared to what I’m about to tell you.

Real Examples of Make Money Products that were sold on CB:

  • Stripper’s Advice on How to Make Easy Money Fast – Not joking. There was even a video. An ex-stripper is talking on the video how she was able to quit work and make enormous amounts of money online. Few marketers I know thought this was an actual stripper hired to act out in a video. Who knows. But we all agreed that it was a major type BS.
  • 16 Year Old Girl Making $xxx, xxx Figures Online – Are you kidding me? Ok, yes, such things exist and there are extraordinaire kids out there, but this was just a joke. The girl’s voice sounded like 16 year old could do it. She was obnoxious and very self confident. Teaching people how she was able to do amazing amounts of money online.
  • An elderly Claiming How He Stole Secret CD – This was just plain dumb. They took a senior citizen to stand in front of camera and tell an amazing story how he snatched a CD from some kinds of conference, from some kind of super wealthy guru. And no he is giving this software away for $97 or so. Even the words like guru didn’t sound natural from his mouth.

And these are just examples. But you now realize what kind of crap was being sold to people. And I think still will be sold, but maybe more conservatively. Videos, sales pitches like those just make me sick. They put the whole hard-working online entrepreneur community into the shadow, because of people like this. And sadly people believing such stories will be hooked, misled, lied to.

So ClickBank released more regulations for such advertisers and won’t accept any more deceitful products like these.

And I’m really glad about this. The more networks start cracking down no misleading offers/products, the more transparent and safer and prosperous this industry is going to become. And it not only is the responsibility of the advertiser. Advertisers who see only $$ signs in their eyes will not have decency or heart. They will do absolutely anything possible to make a quick buck.

So this comes down to ad networks and affiliates networks primarily. Because as the sales are driven by affiliates, it is network’s responsibility to comply with newest FTC regulations and ban/disapprove products from their network that do not comply. Places where you buy internet advertising like Google content network, Casale media, Advertising.com and so on should also start following the guides from FTC.

Such miserable lies in advertising like in the examples above will only make it harder for everyone to make money from internet. So it’s a good day for me personally and I hope you too :) Enjoy it.
